The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course introduces you to the environmental and shooting conditions unique to underwater imaging. Learn how to work with strobes to add colour back into your photos and to take advantage of ambient light and sunlight to create dramatic images.

What You’ll Learn
The Digital Underwater Photography specialty gives you the foundational knowledge about the unique challenges and opportunities of the medium. You’ll learn about:
- compensating for the loss of colours underwater
- composing shots
- finding shot opportunities
- buoyancy control and positioning your body for the shot
- image post-processing
- equipment options
- and more
What You’ll Need
To participate in the Digital Underwater Photographer specialty you need:
- To hold a PADI Open Water Diver or Jr. Open Water Diver certification or equivalent from a recognized training organization
In addition to your scuba equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, weights, tank, dive computer and exposure suit), you will also need a digital camera with underwater housing rated to 100 feet or deeper.
Instructor fee: $150 + tax
